ABOUT THE CRICKET CLUB
Sheffield Park Cricket Club is more than a pitch it’s a historic landscape shaped by stories, sport and sweeping Victorian heritage. The grounds sit within the original estate where cricket was played as early as the 1800s, once home to grand pavilions and ornamental structures that framed the field. One of the club’s most charming tales is the famous bat strike that sent a ball soaring into the branches of a nearby tree, where it remained lodged for decades; a small reminder of how deeply cricket is woven into this place.
Today, the grounds offer a versatile open‑air setting for a wide range of events. The expansive outfield is ideal for fitness and wellness sessions, from yoga and breathwork to team‑building bootcamps.
The natural bowl of the landscape lends itself beautifully to open‑air cinema nights, with uninterrupted views and plenty of space for blankets, deckchairs and food trucks.
